This is to raise public awareness and hopefully will help stop this kind of inappropriate acts. Not all taxi drivers are bad, there are a lot of decent and good taxi drivers but because of some driver's behaviour, everyone is getting affected and people are getting scared of taking taxis nowadays. This is not the first time I've had experience, I had worse experience in Tondo where I was threatened and surrounded by random guys asking money just so I can take a taxi. That time I wasn't filming. In this particular incident I had to stopped and talked to 5 taxis, all of them want the same. "contract or fixed price" and eventually I had to give up for the sake of just going home.

Sharing my own experience here in the Philippines guys. This happened to me last month. Hope the Taxi Scam in Manila would stop very soon.Not all drivers are bad tho. I’ve seen the good ones also. Love you all!

elmo ramos we were also got ripped off by a cab driver in cubao. from baliwag terminal to araneta center bus terminal we were charged 150 pesos because we had 4 luggages that time. We have no choice but to pay the driver to avoid any confrontation.

It is a taxi scam that goes back ages ago as far as I can remember. It has become the norm for taxis.

No matter the country’s effort to improve infrastructure, transportation, tourism, etc., but if there are scams like this, none of these efforts will mean much. Sayang talaga! We should come down on those leeches. Take out your smartphone and videotape and record info it shows on the side door, license plate, and a shot of the driver when you want to take a taxi.
that’s very smart to ask help from security guard to take taxi maybe I should do that next time…and hold a camera already 🙂

If you want to make a taxi scam vlog everyday I’m sure you will get a lot of footage everyday… hahahaha!!! That’s how most of the Taxi here in Manila lives… most of them scam others literally every passengers hahaha
Hoping that Taxi operators will use Beep Card so that taxi driver will not get a money directly from passenger and also they cant get the change of your payment
