Click Here And Learn How To Avoid Scams Online
I woke up to my sister going viral all over social media, youtube, on television at multiple tv networks, and all over facebook with over 2 million views regarding her taxi scam incident at the Manila airport. This is a common problem that has been going on for so many years but now that it has been caught on camera, accountability is being held. Vlog 458

Haley handled the situation perfectly. She stood up for herself. The driver was in the wrong.
I was really shookt when i saw Haley on tv patrol. I’m impressed the way she handled the situation still with respect. Good job #dgaf queen!??
TOTOO!
He’s Back!!!!
Hi bret
hi bret

Josh!!!!!!!
BE MY TAXI DRIVER TOO PLS!! AND WE’LL TAKE A SELFIE 😀
Go sir
XD HA! Hahahahahha
Haley should do the opposite, she should ride a taxi everytime she goes home, lets see how many drivers will be put on the news, and when theres plenty already ,who knows she might be the #HaleyThePhilippineTaxiAmbassadress which is a new level of government special official ….?
No…..100 percent, she did the right thing coz if she didn’t it will go on and on forever…. SALUTE Miss Dasovich!!!!!
Jed Teng lol
if haley does that she will be so stressed out because there are alot of them out there and even the taxis that just roam our streets they just disrespects you right in your face and flat out says that this is their rate take or leave. And most of the times, they will just look at you and ride off, a bunch of rude jerks but not all of them are rude some of them are nice people and goes by the book.
Liber De Deum that is illegal not to pick up passengers ..do not say things that you do not know..it will show how low your IQ is
It happened to me personally in Makati around Greenbelt two here in Manila! A friend of mine and myself are going home and we decided to take a taxi, the taxi just drove past us windows down. They can get away with that here in the Philippines.
Haley did the right thing and she acted calmer than I think I would have. She asserted herself with epic grace, something most Filipinos would not have done in the same situation. Another thing that made me so proud of her is that she SAID something and didn’t blindly accept what the bully driver asked for. We Filipinos have been nonconfrontational and passive aggressive for FAR too long. We gotta know how to be proactive and how to react at the right time. If this was any normal Pinoy they would have just paid and that REINFORCES this sick scam. Filipinos should learn to push back at bullies and stand our ground. I’m so proud of Haley and her decision to show this in her vlog. It’s so important, not only because she exposed this scam, but because she set the example of how to act on this situation. <3
I’m all up for tipping but NEVER EVER tell or ask a passenger for an additional charge. May kusa naman ang tao kung maganda ang serbisyong ibinigay, madalas nagbibigay ng dagdag bayad. Ayoko ung pangungunahan ka pa.?

I think Haley was so correct in putting this on her vlog. It’s an eye opener for alot people. Thanks and stay positive.
Haley said she’ll give a tip, but that taxi driver is greedy as hell. The video is no way edited, what happened is very obvious in the video
im a filipino and i don’t want to go to manila because im afraid to the taxi drivers. .. that’s y im glad that there’s grab or uber.
I suggest If you don’t want to experience that every time you come home in the Philippines and for the sake of other passengers, you should do what’s right and for justice.
Hesedh Torres grab ?
Stay where you are.

yeah, that’s why we need to get a car !!
Hustisya para kay haley ❤ Karma para sa TAXI Driver ❤
hhheehheh lol
The taxis in all 2nd and 3rd world countries are terrible for scams. Its the small money scam, in the west its all big money scams. In Vancouver a contractor took 10 yrs to build 5 miles of road….. billing the government hard through those years. Well done Haley on standing up for your self, most people would roll over. Huge respect.
As someone that has visited the Philippines just a month ago, I can say that this situation happened 9/10 taxi’s and I took them everywhere. Yes, I am a foreigner, so I stand out in the crowd and I am obviously not a local. I also stay firm and insist on the meter when they attempt to negotiate…it’s an obvious losing situation to agree to a flat rate, why else would they offer it? If there is any reluctance on the meter being turned on, I am leaving the cab. As for your sister posting this? 100% THE RIGHT THING TO DO…She has shined a very bright light on a problem visitors to the Philippines have struggled with for a very long time. So I appreciate her posting it…as for the response and the punishment? I think the message is out there, and being broadcast on the local news can only raise the discussion further. Kudos to the Philippines response too by the way, they see a problem, they address it and heck, let’s bring in the cameras to allow transparency. This shame will not only affect this driver, but the many that have been doing the same for a long time. I do not feel he should lose his job, I think a suspension is warranted, but the example has been set and I think the power of this video will be used as a lesson for all future taxi drivers in the Philippines for a very long time. It should be noted, this is not just a Manilla practice, they were doing the same things in Cebu where I visited. So I think instead of having various discussions when I visit again in May, I will ask the drivers if they have seen your sisters video…and if not, I will be sure they do before I leave them a tip. Thanks for all you do…and a special thanks to your sister.
Tom RG I fully intend on using the taxis, while they shouldn’t attempt the flat rate, it’s a culture that has gone on for a long time. I don’t entirely fault them as they are trying to provide for their families. Truth is, once the meter is turned on, I often have very good conversations with the drivers. I completely intend to discuss this video with the drivers I interact with when I visit again in May. Thank you for your advice and trust that the acts of some of these drivers in no way reflect my opinion of the amazing people of the Philippines.
peekaboo2u ,. First off, Filipinos don’t pay more than 100 pesos for a taxi. I have been scammed from airport 3 to a hotel near the first one. 800 pesos. Never again. And I am not shy to rip on the driver’s. Next time I will just leave the taxi wen he drops at the office. I will never take a taxi again.
K
Yeah. I experienced same thing before sir. I’m a Filipino but they insisting to negotiate rather than using meter. What’s the reason? TRAFFIC! 😀 That’s their f*cking reason bro. Of course there are taxi drivers with good heart told me that these kind of taxi drivers ruined their reputation. I suggest the next time you ride a taxi again, choose an old drivers and try to open your GPS to point out If they will bring you to your destination on time without a hitch.
Well, not everyone is lucky enough to be able to leave the cab easily. In my case, when I was going to De la salle university in Taft ave, the taxi driver did want to turn on the taximeter. And when I insisted on using the taximeter instead of flat rate, the taxi driver suddenly locked the door, so we could not leave the cab. It was a frightening situation, since I was inside the car with my japanese friend, and we both are women. We both are foreigners, and I think that’s why he used the situation to scam us. At the the end, the driver stopped the taxi in a quiet place, not in DLSU, so we could not ask for a help and had to pay the amount he asked.
Since then, I always take a picture of the taxi number plate/driver’s information and then send it to a friend every time I’m inside the taxi cab.If possible, try to make a call when we’re inside the taxi, it keeps our friend updated about us.
Haley did the right thing
yes
I wonder if this issue was not vlogged nor gone viral, Would the general manager acted the same way? I mean, would he take this case seriously?
Normally when I take cabs, I always consider the driver´s attitude as the basis of my tip – whether I will give one or how much it should be.
Apparently, some greedy drivers demand while the good ones just show their personality and talk to you with sincerity so itś so easy to give a tip then even if their not asking for it.
Finding Jeru i agree, since this is the 2nd offense of the driver, yet he was just punished after the scene has been vlogged
Management will pretend like they have no idea about the corruption. It’s all a show. Thank god for Uber in Manila.
Thats true. Happened many times but without the involvement of media it could have just slipped away and the management wouldn’t care. He should have cursed himself first.
Finding Jeru of course, nag-viral kc. the whole world would know how is riding a taxi here in the philippines. Nakakahiya para sa buong mundo.
I guess its about the material evidence. Its easy to let go of complaints when there is no concrete evidence, but this case it was solid- no excuse to let the issue go.
Exactly. It’s not about the money, it’s the principle ????
She’s going “viral”? There’s probably an ointment for that.
Anyway, good for her. She’s protecting other tourists. And by extention, she’s protecting the Phillipino people that benefit from the tourism industry.

I just wished that he just admitted his mistakes in the end 🙁 instead, he still said “baka inedit ni vlogger” which really made me sad.
Des Francisco what does that means? Sorry i may have missed that part.
Viv Hanz ‘Maybe the vlogger edited it’ something like that, I guess.
Sorry I’m not good in english XD
Viv Hanz
Mr. Taxi Driver believed that Haley just edited the video 🙂
Reason na lang nya yon… pero lam naman natin lahat na scam ang mga karamihan ng taxi
Im sorry Will that does not make a difference, the gentleman getting fired is a reaction not a solution to the problem. In order to change aspects of society, we must come up with solutions. This man lost his job for doing the wrong thing, however he took a hit for the entire taxi community. Will this stop the Taxi communities behaviour? Probably not. In my view he lost his job because the officials were red faced and forced to make a harsh decision to save their own skin. I bet here wasn’t one person in that room that wasn’t aware of this tactic that’s employed by Taxi drivers. So who’s really at fault here, the Taxi driver for participating in a bad taxi driver culture or the officials that know its happening and do nothing to change it?
How about both.
Ibalik si Marcos?
Kung pwede lang sana!!! Aus lang yan kasi si Digong parang ala Marcos din!!!
Geh hukayin at buhayin mo.
Ibalik ang nagsimula ng corruption. Mga marcos pumalit duterte mga bobo pinoy
Tanginaaa maka ano si kuya inedit daw ni ate ? nyemas na driver
