I think just about any hotel close to Sukhumvit Road will do. If I’m not mistaken you get off at the Klongtoey MRT station and can go from there to the Mercy Center. Also, don’t they have accommodation on the premises? Or you don’t want to stay there?

Perhaps you should find the video I am commenting on and drop your staunch pro-Thai attitude because frankly, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Seriously, I never cease to be amazed at the level of stupidity by some people commenting on YouTube.
According to my humble opinion the most important mistake was left out. Never mess about with other women! Been there, seen it and i´m still there. Not for good but soon i will be. Even though i know quite a lot it is still interesting listening to other peoples experiences and thoughts, Thank You!

Scott Mallon im chinese people stay and live in bangkok for 7 years. im very agree with your points. i saw many westerners in thailand got many trouble about this. some of them even die. when i see this kinds of messeges, im got horrible.maybe they are not got deeply understand about each girl’s background. another things is make sure the girls you take from bar or massage shop are real female because some of them are not girls if you see their hand and feet size are large than you. but they still have female genital.last, i want to say be careful when you stay in thailand dude.try to find a girls with education or the one who have social class.and told your all friends about this truth. here is not everyone said a smile land, here is the place very twisty.

I found many good people and bad people, same as in UK, Russia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Greece, etc. etc.
Having bopped around the globe more than the average gringo, I can honestly say the American tourist/expat is generally the most clueless schlep on the planet. Almost all are men, they have no common sense, particularly about women, and a 14 hour plane ride doesn’t change that, it just changes the location. “I’ll get involved with a hooker. What could go wrong? She sure seems to need me! This must be love. Ahhhhh”
One thing rang true though about getting divorced in middle age in the U.S. Wow, are our women a mess. Got divorced at 43 and tried dating women in the 35+ age group. Gave up quick. Not worth it.
+Scott Mallon Guys, I rarely, if ever take the same woman twice. I like variety. If I want to “fall in love” or “settle down” and get taken to the laundry I wouldn’t fly to Thailand to do it, I can do that any where and I don’t. I was “in love” once when I was 16 – that was quite enough thank you. No need to disappear into a black hole. Literally and figuratively. Every-time it’s even come close since then only served as ample reminder.
same in France, the whole Western world actually is in that situation. Unless you accept marrying older women (my wife is 6 years older, not a big deal anyway), but most men are into young things and “supermodels”, they are delusional (save the rare Alpha Males).

Ted, Yer kidding. My family are the sweetest folk you can be around. And a conciseness defiantly. I have spent years here all over Thailand. It’s the way I see many Farangs and how they treat the Thai People in this country as folk who have no concience.

More like 10 mistakes to never make with hookers. As far as living in Thailand goes, this whole video can be compacted into one mistake “don’t get involved with Thai hookers.” If possible it’s best to only associate with REAL people, which unfortunately can be hard if you’re new in town and don’t speak the language.

At the very least, see it for what it is. A business transaction. Pay the fee, hit it! Quit it! Park stop it! Neutral slam it! Run her through all the gears! Park it where you found it! (Back at the bar) And walk off the lot.

A man should never give up control of his finances to any woman ever. I don’t care how long he has known her or how long she has been his wife, she should never have access to his primary accounts. Give her money for her own account or a secondary joint account but never allow any woman to have control over life’s savings. That is my opinion about it and I believe there is safety in this.

Another name I’ve heard for Ted’s affliction is The Dulcinea Effect, which is defined as the strange compulsion many male heroes have to champion, quest for, or die for girls they met five minutes ago. The name is a reference to Don Quixote.
All very sound advice. It applies equally to the Philippines. Hope people pay attention to your advice Scott. Should be mandatory viewing for guys thinking of doing the bar thing before their first trip.
What people like “Ted” (from the video Scott is referring to) completely fail to understand is that the attention and “affection” these bar girls show them is not real. In Thailand (and many other countries), one can buy a girlfriend for the night, a few days or for the whole vacation. Unlike prostitutes in western countries who are rude and want to kick you out as quickly as possible, these girls will provide an excellent “girlfriend experience” for the duration she is being paid for. But it is a show and a service, providing an illusion. Just like a hired Father Christmas provides a show for the kids and makes them feel special. But just as Father Christmas doesn’t really exist, so don’t these girls really feel anything for their customer. It’s an exchange of money for an illusion. Treat it that way, enjoy your time and then get back to reality.

I didn’t pursue the matter but she looked clean cut and spoke several languages.

No, her worth is not her appearance but when she’s a bar girl, her appearance equates the grade of foreigner she is capable of landing. If she’s great looking, she tends to get men with money, if she’s ugly, she gets an ugly, less attractive man. I don’t make the rules, I just comment on them. As far as impoverished, in a recent study, Thai bar girls were asked if they enjoyed their job. Guess what – the majority – approximately 80% said they did. So save your lectures for someone who actually cares. I’m not out to save the world nor am I someone who feels I should tell others how to live their lives. THE WOMEN CHOOSE to work in a bar because they can’t figure out another way to make more money. Millions of people in the world feel the exact same way.

Great Video. Hate to say it… but what you say is true. I was born in Thailand but live in the U.S most of my life. I went back to Thailand last year for vacation. Saw a lot of (particularly ) caucasian foreigners with thai women…just wish they could see this youtube video. There are good girls n bad girls in every country. Just be smart people. Have fun in Thailand but don’t get caught up in ridiculous fantasy.

Seriously, living in I-saan, you know, where they make bargirls, I have seen that the question of why these girls do this is multifaceted. And not all white guys who Mary Thai women are toads like this balding slob. We were both decent looking and near same age couple. And we didn’t meet at a bar, we were introduced. Now I have two gorgeous teen daughters getting looks by creepy “greyhounds” who thinks that Thai means ” for sale”. Could you imagine if the world judged America by the prostitutes on Hollywood Blvd, their kin and kind. Soi Cowboy is not Thailand.
There good Thai girls but most likely most of them won’t be working in a bar or that easily running around with any guy. Just like anywhere in the World n even in America or the western world similar rules apply.

Its hard for me to take advice from a guy like Scott who couldn’t get a hot girl in his own country. Put a really good looking smart guy giving me advice, then I will listen to him. If you have lots of dating experience in your own country you usually have zero problems in Thailand because you can see right through the game.
