  1. I’m Chinese and the #1 tip I’ll give is…. Whenever you are trying to buy something, or anything from any store other than chained supermarkets, always ask for the price half of you are offered. The Chinese business men are the scammest people in the world; they overpeiice everything. If they refuse to reduce the price just walk away and I’m pretty they’ll catch up with you and take your offer. Or at least give you a way better price than the first one

    1. If you define sales guys or store owners as businessmen, yes, you are right.
What I define a businessman is not a “store owner”. Chinese businessmen work times harder than others and they are not the “scummest people” in the world. If you do business in North America you know the margin in NA is over 10 times higher than in China. That’s what makes it “mess production”.

    2. LOL, that happened to me in Hong Kong, I walked away and the lady grabbed my arm demanding that I should buy the item. I refused and walked away. She then threw her calculator she uses for sales at me as I walked down the alley.  Those people are not just scam artists, they are crazy. lol

  2. I was in Beijing about 5 days and I experienced the tea shop scam, the art scam, the rickshaw scam and the taxi scam.
Oh what fun it was. That said, loved Beijing – definately worth a trip. And once you’ve experienced one of these scams once, you tend to learn from it pretty quickly.

    1. In 2007 I was in Beijing and experienced the tea shop scam, I was entering the Bookstore in WangFuJing street or how it’s called, and then a cute girl just came towards me asking me if I wanted a tour showing around, and of course I said yes and she showed me the bookstore, then her girlfriend showed up too and they asked if we should go look at a cool Place, and we took a taxi to somewhere of course I had to pay the taxifee, then we arrived to a tea house and there i had to pay $500 for it, and $500 more because the Girls wanted some tea too, lol I was really stupid back then.. anyways then we Went back to the bookstore by taxi and I had to pay that too, they gave me their Telephone number, but seriously I didn’t know we were at the bookstore and we was standing just next to a clothing store, and now they said that I’ve promised them to buy clothes for each of the Girls, no idea when I did make that promise but I was tired and wanted to go home so I gave the Girls $300 but first asked how to get to the bus? and they pointed the direction to the nearest bus.. anyways the next day one of the Girls contacted me on sms, but I never answered 😛

    2. +The Crazy Gamer gave them $300 for clothes took their number and paid for the taxi back after they scammed you lmao. Id be swearing and shouting at them and the people in th tea shop so loud they would not feel safe near me after leaving the tea shop to even ask for a taxi.

    3. +Kris S Yeah well, I didn’t want to make a scene and It was in the middle of the night and I was dead-tired.. anyways this was back in year 2006 so it’s no big deal right now 🙂

  3. Before I go to foreign countries I quickly photograph the serial numbers of my foreign cash. It takes a couple minutes but it ends the cash swap ruse when you prove the scamer has one of your notes in his wallet.

    1. Ah ha ha ha…that’s soooo ummm stupid! They won’t give you the time of day let alone look at your supposed “proof” …watch/count the meter jus like in New York…

    2. +Hollyweed O.K., it’s tough for a West Hollywood waitperson in a club to explain why they’ve got your $100 on their tray when you’ve got $3.50 in change for a beer. Just call over a supervisor immediately. It works before the supervisor gets to the table.

  4. i spent 3wks in China and hated it … hustlers are in yr face every 10sec. i got lured to a club and was robbed 2000usd. After that I left to Cambodia and had a real holiday to remember. sorry to say but Chinese are awful  people

    1. Things like that can happen in any places and it is unfair to say we are awful people just because you happened to encounter some bad ones. If you hate the country, fine, never visit it again.

    2. Bro, you fell for the old, “beautiful girl, massage, very young, sexy, come with me, I show you good place”.
      Feel bad for you.
Most Chinese are nice people but part of their culture is not walking up to complete strangers wanting to learn the person’s life story. If that ever happens then get the hell out of there fast.

    3. i asked to be taken to a nightclub … i was aware of this scam but thought i would not go in if it wasnt a legit club. where i got caught was going in an elevator that opened in the club and i was  trapped with no way out. Chinese mafia operating with the protection of the police.

  5. Once i traveled to china. specifically Beijing. everything seemed fine until one night i had dinner in a restaurant. i can’t remember the name but that’s not surprising because i had a hard time pronouncing it at the time. after dining there i had a very bad food poisoning. it hurt real bad. while i was struggling came a young guy that seemed friendly and concerned. he offered to take me to the hospital. sure enough i accepted, i was in too much pain to refuse. the next thing i remember i woke up in a whorehouse in the middle of nowhere half naked & covered with some ice around my stomach. it looks like my tummy was cut open on the right side and then stitched back. i was very frightened. i called 110 which was the 911 equivalent. was rescued and my fears were confirmed. i had an extra kidney transplanted into my body. now i have to live with 3 kidneys for the rest of my life.

    1. These people believe this bullshit story you made up. Unbelievable, people will believe anything. Good one though.

  6. When I get approached in foreign countries I tell them I’m in town for a wedding. I say my family member is getting married to a police/ government official and they will be picking me up soon. I always invite them to stay and meet my “new family”. Scammers tend not to hang about after I say that. It’s common in most places to try and take advantage of tourists. I also avoid long conversations with locals and lie about where I’m from. I also like to add I’m just on vacation on last time before I go to court or file for bankruptcy, they also tend to avoid people who they think are poor.

    1. +Therealhatepotion lol now…just figured I’d correct myself before the internet trolls rage about that also. Some angry cunts really need to be noticed. Keep going rage girl. I’m done.

    2. +Therealhatepotion
You say, QUOTE: “Never said I am well traveled nor that I’ve done it multiple times. ”
I guess you saw this video and WHAT? Started writing down dreams?
You want to be emasculated in public? You brought it on yourself with your initial response.

    3. You really like to put words in capital letters. It really shows how much you mean them. Ha ha ha. Ok loser keep raging.

    4. +Therealhatepotion evn u can say u r on government jobs, health issues lost wallet, or act dumb deaf drowsy tho i neaver do all this jus carry broken cracked credit card scamster undsstand all by than

    1. That’s because Mao executed all the quality people and all that is left is filthy peasants and their descendents.

    2. Aston Ma-

Emm, no- I have many flaws and I never said other countries are perfect….

  7. A good way to avoid being scammed in foreign countries by people who come up to you speaking perfect english is to talk gobbledygook to them whilst shrugging your shoulders. I have this weird welsh-dutch sort of nonsense I will talk. It’s completely made up, but it avoids communication. Just have a big smile when you do it.

    1. that was always my intention to speak to them in French or Spanish and pretend that you don’t know any English that will confuse the hell out of them or immediately asked to see their genitals sure you want to take me to a tea house let me see your genitals and make a scary face like you’re a fucking maniac

  8. i am chinese and i don’t know any of these scams lol, except for making you buy soveniers and if u don’t the get pissed off at you and also the biggest thing u have to be careful is the food stolls they often say “beef” and they actually are rat meat…

    1. +Daniel Hayes no the thing is I never go to the subways and I never get targeted by those scams because I look poor 🙁

    1. In Taiwan there’s not really much real Chinese cultures. There’s more Taiwanese Island culture

    2. +Maggie most culture in china is destroyed during the revolution… taiwan might see some but original and originated in the mainland

  9. Thanks for the heads up on these scams, who would even want to go to this ugly country anyway, the air is so polluted that it’s like smoking a cigarette each time you inhale.

    1. The air in China is pollinated, but it is quite tolerable. Also, almost every I met in China is quite nice.

  10. If only I saw this video before going to China.

The first, second, and fourth ones happened to me. Well the first one was an invitation that was refused. With the second a Chinese student passed by the secluded road (luckily), and we paid only the normal rate. And the fourth one we (my family) noticed it was going faster than normal, so we stopped the taxi paid the fee for the 15 seconds we were in there.

    Great video.

    1. No I’m Persian. It’s funny when bargaining, if I say I’m from Iran the prices are like a third of what it’d be if I said I was from Canada.

    2. +Vertigo Immanotgonnatellya  Exactly!!!!! xDDDD. White people have it the worst!! When we went there my Mom literally got the price of skates which he said was 200 Yuan to just 20 Yuan.

    1. +Devansh Chauhan He has to be, but he is probably been executed for that statement, harming state interests or something.

    1. +Brandon Page Yes… I meant “booty” becaouse I have a thing for short asian girls…

    2. cesar333 China is pure garbage. Scam, fake, dishonest, land grabbing the Philippines, greedy and evil. God must destroy China!

  11. tour guide forcing tourist to buy merchandise is pretty common in china
and Chris if you really want to list out ALL the scams in china you could make a drama series longer than The Simpsons

  12. A panda walks into a bar, sits down, and orders a sandwich. He eats, pulls out a gun, and shoots the waiter dead. As the panda stands up to go, the bartender shouts, “Hey! Where are you going? You just shot my waiter and you didn’t pay for the food!” The panda yells back, “Hey man, I’m a panda. Look it up!” The bartender opens his dictionary to panda,

“A tree climbing mammal of Asian origin, characterized by distinct black and white coloring ”

    ” Eats, shoots, and leaves.”

    1. depending on what dictionary the bartender searched. That panda couldn’t pay him because he had broads in Atlanta
