The show is ok but the ticketing scheme is a total scam, which sells tickets inside the grandiose Vienna opera house and told us the show is right there tomorrow. But when we arrived on time. The door man told us the show is in a small opera house 1 mile away so we had to not only rush there, got late, got shut out at the door since the show started, and we were required to pay more money and move to seats which were not what we purchased from the ticket office inside Vienna opera house. It's surprising that the largest, most famous opera house is a scam master.
When we tried to complain, everyone we talked to said it is not their fault, or they can't explain, asked us to wait in another line for another 20 minutes to talk to another clerk who again knows nothing.
Finally we gave up and agreed to pay 50% more to get in, the show's best part was already over! A gigantic disappointment of the Austrian people we met.
Vienna has great legacy, but with a totally dysfunctional society and logistics that nobody takes any responsibility for anything.
And when I walked upstairs to my seats, the receptionist behind me yelled at me “Strange Woman!”.
Jackie Chen what was the scam?
Indeed a scam. This is not even the Vienna Opera House. It’s the Musikverein.
