    1. Taxi drivers are the same the World over – always get a price before you start in Thailand especially when they say meter not working !

    2. are you an adult or a 5 yearold? All you have to do is just get a cab with a meter. I been many times and taxis are very cheap, even better if you use web. You can go from one end of BK to another for around 300Thb on meter, It is typically about 400 to airport. You think BK is bad try London !!!

    3. always use the airport meter taxi from Suvanarbhumi airport….been there dozens of times…. everything’s ok…lor…

    4. Also taxi’s FROM the airport. make sure you collect Taxi from the ground floor and that toll’s are included in the price.

  1. Best is: AVOID Thailand!!! I have been there and I experienced some of the points mentioned. And to be true: This are only 10 scams, but MUCH more are popular and also worth to mention. Sad to say for the honest Thai’s, but in Tourist spots 80% of the Thai’s only try to get as much of your money as possible.

    1. WELL EVERY COIN HAS TWO SIDES.. WE DO NOT FORGET THAT MANY ARE POOR AND HAVE A FAMILY TO FEED. IF WE WERE POOR. WHAT WE ARE NOT. WE WOULD CHANGE ATTIDUES FOR GET MORE MONEY.AND THEN TRAVELER TEND TO BE GREEDY

    2. Thailand is a very nice country. we all have to pay a price for experiance.tHIS goes with other countries too….Thailand is cheap. if you get scammed it is not very high amount and with time you will get a better feeling about good prices or higher prices. .after having made your experiences,, but you always can ask other travellers about prices. if you don t go travel to Thailand because you might lose a couple of dollars.. you will lose a very beautiful and great experience.. think it over and maybe it is not so good to watch too many youtube video reviews. Train and busses are so cheap. hairdresser cost so much like i give tip in our country… food is cheap. accomodations are cheapest you can choose between a better hotel and a cheap. but better hotels are much more affordible than in western countries. it is cheap and a bit ripp off you can afford for this. think it over.. and don’t believe everyone. make your own experience. Thailand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. there are lot of beach. islands.. go to Koh Samet . it is not far from Bangkok. Koh CHanng also beautiful . a bit more far.

    3. Ive been there with a local and nothing happened just an amazing experience. So this is for everyone always better to have a friend or someone from Thailand

    4. I dont know where you are from however scams exist in every country in the world, Especially if you go to 3rd world countries i.e. Thailand. Second women are ussually treated equal in Western european countries however if you go to any countries past Germany, even in some eastern european countries, women are treated as 2nd class citizen.

I got scam scammed in Turkey by a shopowner – Cash swapping scam. If you going to buy cheap products always carry small notes in one pocket and arge ones on the other and always use the small change first

    1. Also you should not say “you’re welcome” for watching your video. It’s weird.
You only say it when someone actually thanks you.

  2. as long as there are tourist there will be people trying to scam them.its every where in the world…the best is to find out as much as possible about the country you are going to visit…I travel extensively especially Asia because of my work…Thailand is one of the most amazing place with the most polite people I have ever met…keep up the good work Cassandra.

  3. Take the BTS skytrain not taxi’s or tuk tuks, it is most likely faster too. If you will risk renting something, never let them keep your passport. If you must rent scooters from your hotel if they have them rather than little shops and take lots of pictures and video before hand. If taken in by the police, NEVER sign anything and contact your embassy. Do not buy drugs, and do not buy drugs from tuk tuk drivers, they are paid informants by the police and get kickbacks. If you are white or foreign looking shop around for prices to make sure you are not getting the 2x-3x tourist price. Yes, you can just avoid going to Thailand but it is too beautiful and exciting just to stay in your bubble for your whole life.

  4. Please just use your common sense. Give respect, get respect. Too many people who come to Thailand have a very negative impression of it because they are probably the ones who behave in an inappropriate way in the first place. Of course scams happen, like they do everywhere. There is a very simple solution: COMMON SENSE!-Example: If a taxi driver (Tuk Tuk Driver) doesn’t have a meter obviously they can charge you what they want when you arrive at your destination. Simple.

    1. Common sense needs common knowledge. I think this is a great video for somebody who has never travelled to Thailand (or any other country for that matter).

    2. True that MAT these ppl have never travelled before therefore never experienced negotiating with taxi before u reach ur destination or negotiating with the seller to reduce the price they don’t know the hustle and the tactics we pull up on people therefore they can’t relate

    1. Find a local and u will have the best experience. If you don’t just watch out for them but is not a big deal. Been there twice its an amazing and cheap place. I also drove motorbikes and police didnt care and i became friends with one that spoke engllish. Alot of friendly people.

  5. I’ve been abroad a few times. This kind of behavior disgusts me! People are supposed to be honest and friendly with each other, not scam each other.

    1. briantravelman I wouldn’t scam a genuine good person.

But a selfish tourist deserves it.
Ex. Most tourist litter in the beautiful gardens.

    2. Lol they get paid almost 70 dollar for the whole month salary what u do expect going there spending almost 100.00 dollar a day come on its what it’s I wouldn’t be mad at them for trying at least

  6. Those who get scammed are usually the ones who leave their brain on the aircraft seat on arrival at Suvarnabhumi or Phuket International Airports. Thailand is by far the safest of countries to visit in all of SE Asia if not the entire world. You don’t get mugged in Thailand. Just remember, the entire world is a jungle with scams going on daily on one’s own very doorstep, just use your God-given brain and you will have the most wonderful time in the Land of Smiles. Go to the tourist hot spots and red light areas and expect to be ripped off. Go off trail and one will find a most charming, welcoming and delightful race of people.

    1. Lexicon Devil
It is a safe place compared to many other places in the world , I have travelled to most south east asian countries and done a good chunk of india as well and i still rank thailand as one of the safest .. A little local knowledge , good manners , and common sense go a long way …also package tours bring in people who would normally get pissed in spanish bars and have no real idea where they are and end up getting into trouble mainly of their own making…..

    2. Thailand is in the top 10 most dangerous countries I will believe statistics not a comment. But, ive been there 2 times and still love Thailand and being dangerous wont stop me from coming andn visiting the wondeful people and the amazing country.

    3. I couldn’t agree more, I just came from Thailand, spent there 30 days all good experience

  7. Thailand and its people are among the friendliest in the world.Treat them with respect and they will recepracate.

  8. This lady is from Singapore, with a strong Singaporean or Malaysian accent. I would think a Thai person would be more appropriate. Singapore and Malaysia are two of the world’s scam capitals. Perhaps this lady should talk about scams in Singapore. Singaporeans can be very stressed people. Some are jealous of the Thais on account of their friendliness and joy do vivre. Thailand is a welcoming, super country to visit.

    1. Never heard of a Singapore scam, I tried to tip a taxi once and he refused and said it’s illegal!

    2. Daniel Ford She speaks well, and personally I feel Singapore is just a better place.

    3. Singapore a scam capital? and jealous of backward Thais with an appalling education system and an enormous corruption problem, don’t think anyone is jealous of a Thai.

    1. AS: C’mon Mr. Intrepid, take the plunge (as long as you enjoy limiting your activities to eating, visiting temples, and going to the beach)!

  9. I guess you work in a promotion department , 10 only?? as i counted are 1500 ..and i’m still counting
